Community Programs

At Insight World Aid we believe that we all have a responsibility to contribute to the well-being of our communities by fostering kindness, respect, and support for one another. This includes keeping our surroundings clean, protecting the environment, helping those in need, and promoting inclusion and fairness. By actively participating in community initiatives, volunteering, and advocating for positive change, we can create a stronger, more compassionate society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Our collective efforts shape the future, making our communities safer, healthier, and more vibrant for generations to come.

We are looking for volunteers who’d like to join our efforts with various skills to support our programs including: medical workers, docents, nature lovers, Buddhist chaplains, etc.

Buddha said “If beings knew, as I know, the results of giving & sharing, they would not eat without having given, nor would the stain of selfishness overcome their minds. Even if it were their last bite, their last mouthful, they would not eat without having shared, if there were someone to receive their gift. But because beings do not know, as I know, the results of giving & sharing, they eat without having given”.

Lunch Bag Service for Homeless Shelters

Monthly Program

Insight World Aid is partnering with organizations that support homeless communities with food assistance in our communities.  Home First and Life Moves are two organizations that serve San Mateo and Santa Clara counties in the California Bay Area, and we are partnering with them to provide lunch bags to the residents.

We need volunteers to pack the lunch bags with the items provided by IWA.  The lunch bag services are a fun-filled community giving event held every month. Please check our events calendar for the next scheduled event. We will meet at Redwood City Catholic Worker, 545 Cassia St., Redwood City CA 94063 at 1:00 PM.

To sign up to participate in this program, please send an email to ram@insightworldaid.org.

Community Cleanups and Nature Care

Our Community Cleanups initiative mobilizes volunteers to remove litter from streets, parks, and waterways, promoting environmental sustainability and neighborhood pride.

Our last event was on April 26, 2025 in Redwood City. Insight World Aid and Insight Meditation Center joined the Redwood City Pride and Beautification Committee for the annual spring 2025 cleanup of the city, focused on cleaning the Redwood City creek.

Stay tuned for further community cleanup events.
